I was inspired by Ryuichi Sakamoto's forest protection organization "Trees for Sakamoto". Ryuichi Sakamoto is a Japanese composer and pianist, he composed the music for Revenant and The Last Emperor. I was a huge fan of his musical compositions until he died in March, after he died I was made aware of his organization. I scrolled through the website and was really drawn by the colors and images used. I remembered the website when I was thinking of a topic and went with it. I was overall inspired by his organization and added the the event to the city I was born in - Toronto. So first I started with the picture then slowly created an initial color palette to set the mood and feel of the poster.
