BRAND STORY

With the keyword 'cooking', plat has melted inspiration from various products in the kitchen throughout the brand. In particular, among the elements of the kitchen, the interaction of opening water in the sink, and the scent and light of the oven were inspired to reconstruct it into the shape of the product, and the various forms seen in the kitchen were reflected as brand identity.

plat은 ‘요리’를 키워드로 주방에 있는 다양한 제품에서 얻은 영감들을 브랜드 전반에 녹여냈습니다.

특히 주방의 요소 중 싱크대에서 물을 트는 인터랙션, 그리고 오븐의 향과 빛에서 영감을 받아 이를 제품의 조형으로 재구성하였으며,

주방에서 볼 수 있는 여러 형태를 브랜드 아이덴티티로 반영하였습니다.

plat means 'cooking' in French.

We chose a brand name that intuitively captures the brand identity

through the word's meaning.

plat은 프랑스어로 ‘요리’를 뜻합니다. 단어의 의미를 통해 직관적으로

브랜드 아이덴티티를 담아낼 수 있는 브랜드 네임을 선정하였습니다.

We created a simple and intuitive custom typography logo based on geometric sans, designed around foundational forms. Additionally, we aimed to represent the diverse shapes of kitchen cutlery, blending soft and sharp edges through variations in corner round values. Finally, by harmonizing corner round values, spacing, and height, we achieved a cohesive and organized typography design with regularity.

기초형태를 기반으로 디자인된 지오메트릭 산스를 베이스로 단순하고 직관적인 커스텀 타이포그래피 로고를 제작하였습니다.

또한, 주방에서 볼 수 있는 식기도구들의 부드럽고, 날카로운 다양한 형태를 모서리 라운드 값의 차이를 통해 나타내고자 하였습니다.

마지막으로 모서리 라운드 값과 간격, 높이를 통일하여 규칙성과 함께 정돈된 타이포그래피를 완성하였습니다.

The expansive logo is inspired by the irregular and misaligned placement of various cutlery items. Expanded logos can also be utilized for diverse graphic elements, such as symbols and patterns.

확장형 로고는 각종 식기도구들이 정렬되지 않고 불규칙적으로 놓여있는 모습에 영감을 받아 제작되었습니다.

확장형 로고는 심볼, 패턴과 같이 다양한 그래픽 요소에도 활용 가능합니다.

The graphic elements of the plat were inspired by the things we often encounter while cooking. Simplifies the form of sprayed sauce, stacked plates, spices, and water vapor to be used as a graphic element.

plat의 그래픽 요소는 요리를 하면서 종종 마주하는 것들에 영감을 받았습니다.

뿌려진 소스, 쌓여진 접시, 향신료, 수증기의 형태를 단순화시켜 그래픽 요소로 활용합니다.

Plat combines everyday familiar behaviors of "cooking" with desk-mounted products to give new value to users who are bored with repetitive tasks. It also creates ease of use with existing familiarity.

plat은 일상 속 익숙한 행위인 ‘요리‘와 책상 위의 제품을 결합하여 새로운 가치를 부여하고, 이를 통해 반복적인 태스크에 지루함을 느끼는 사용자에게 신선함을 전달합니다. 또한 기존의 익숙함으로 쉬운 사용성을 만듭니다.

1. Wireless charging dock

"A light that signifies rest"

The wireless charging cradle serves as a trigger to start work by linking the light and the smartphone. The act of lifting the cradle creates an environment where the light is turned on and the work time is measured to maintain concentration. The cradle required for smartphone use draws the user's attention through familiar interactions.

"작업의 시작을 알리는 스위치"

무선 충전 거치대는 조명과 스마트폰을 연동하여 작업을 시작하는 트리거 역할을 합니다. 거치대를 올리는 동작은 조명을 켜고 작업 시간을 측정하여 집중력을 유지하는 환경을 조성합니다. 스마트폰 사용에 필요한 거치대는 익숙한 상호작용을 통해 사용자의 집중을 유도합니다.

Interface Architecture

The identity timer visualizes the heat that gets hotter and hotter as the temperature rises when cooking.
Gradually changing color interactions draw attention to users to recognize time.

아이덴티티 타이머는 요리할 때 온도가 올라갈수록 점점 더 뜨거워지는 열을 시각화합니다.

점차 변화하는 컬러 인터랙션은 사용자가 시간을 인식할 수 있도록 주의를 이끕니다.
