The neutral colour palette with pastel hues, the warm tones of the wood, the 'shōji inspired' sliding panels and the red bushes confers to this interior a sense of Japan. A minimalistic interior where there is only space for the essential. A serene space that allows us to uplift our minds from the agitation of the modern life. Space for self-care where well-being, calmness and quietude prevails: A refuge for the soul.

A paleta de cores neutras com tons pastel, os tons quentes das madeiras, os painéis deslizantes 'inspirados nos shōji' e os arbustos vermelhos conferem a este interior uma ideia de Japão. Um interior minimalista onde só há espaço para o essencial. Um espaço sereno que nos permite elevar as nossas mentes da agitação da vida moderna. Espaço para o bem-estar onde prevalece o conforto, a calma e a tranquilidade: Um refúgio para a alma.

I was asked to create a set of visualizations for a 'Japan Inspired' interior, to showcase some new products for the 2024 catalogue and the product brochures. The task was to create a concept for a bath space, where we could combine the idea of the Japanese rituals with the canons of the Portuguese bathroom, creating a more flexible space that could be seen as a refuge for self-care; a space where we could find serenity and relaxation.

Foi-me solicitado a criação de um conjunto de visualizações para um interior inspirado no Japão para a exibição de alguns dos novos produtos para o catálogo de 2024 e respectivas brochuras de produto. O objectivo deste projecto passou por criar um conceito para um espaço de banho, onde pudéssemos combinar a ideia dos rituais japoneses com os cânones da casa de banho portuguesa, criando deste modo, um espaço mais flexível que pudesse ser visto como um retiro; um espaço para cuidarmos do nosso bem-estar, onde pudéssemos encontrar serenidade e relaxamento.
The Japanese Minimalism also known as Japandi style, was since always one of my favorite styles for interior design, and minimalism as a way of living. In this project I tried to create, in combination with some parameters defined by my clients, a minimal space yet warming with a clean and simple geometry; with a very soothing and neutral color scheme combined with warm materials, as the wood; a space filled with an abundant yet smooth light, whitened by the sunlight; decorated with some organic elements as the red bushes giving the nipponic mood , also creating a connection link between the different images and, bringing some contrast with the rigid geometry of the space.

O Minimalismo Japonês, também conhecido como estilo Japandi, foi desde sempre um dos meus estilos favoritos em termos de design de interiores, bem como o minimalismo como forma de vida. Neste projeto procurei criar, em combinação com alguns parâmetros definidos pelos meus clientes, um espaço minimal contudo acolhedor, de linhas rectas e geometria simples; com um esquema de cores neutro e tons suaves em combinação com materiais quentes, como as madeiras ; um espaço com uma luz natural abundante mas suave, clareada pela luz do sol; decorado com alguns elementos orgânicos como os arbustos vermelhos, atribuindo ao ambiente o visual nipónico pretendido, criando estes um elo de ligação entre as diferentes imagens e, trazendo algum contraste com a geometria rígida do espaço.
My intention, since the beginning of this project was to create an open-space that could also be divided into a more intimate bath space. Inspired by the 'shoji', an element on traditional Japanese architecture, I created a room divider with two sliding panels which defines the bath area and that could also be an element that could bring some variants through the different images of this visual project.

A minha intenção, desde o início deste projeto, foi criar um espaço aberto que pudesse também ser subdividido num espaço de banho. Inspirado nos 'shoji', um elemento da arquitetura tradicional japonesa, a ideia passou por criar uma divisória com dois painéis deslizantes que definisse uma área de banho e que pudesse também ser um elemento que trouxesse algumas variantes às diferentes imagens deste projeto visual.
The result was a set of HD visualizations, some 16:9 wide-angle images that besides its use on catalogue and product brochures could also allow its exhibition on the current screen formats and, some close-ups for some of the pieces. Also, the task was the production of different lighting setups: some images with a bright daylight and some low-light images with a more intimate mood given by the sunset light.

O resultado foi um conjunto de visualizações HD, algumas imagens em grande plano 16:9 que para além da exibição em catálogo e brochuras permitisse também a exibição nos actuais formatos de tela de ecrã e, algumas das imagens mais focadas e direccionadas a algumas das peças. Para além disso, foi-me também solicitado a produção de diferentes configurações de iluminação: algumas imagens foram produzidas com bastante iluminação natural, algumas imagens com baixa iluminação produzindo assim um ambiente mais intimista dado pela luz do pôr-do-sol.
