Japan New York Parade (contest entry)

This was my submission for the "Japan Parade" contest
The contest hosted by "Japan Parade" asks artist to create a design that incorporates the theme of "Japan", "New York", and Parade. More info can be found here:

I decided to have Lady Liberty hold a Dango (japanese snack) and umbrella, in place of the torch and tablet.
I've included elements of parade figures scene in past in parades, and chose the "Wimpy Kid" from "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", and a "Tai" (Japanese Red Snapper) seen in the "Karatsu Kunchi Festivals".
The "Broadway Canyon of Heros" is where most parades are held in New York and choose the signage past for its significance of that.
Lastly you have the Itsukushima Shrine, all backgrounded to Japanese waves with bits of cats in there as well. Common motifs that I love and enjoyed.
