The Boot Room Boys – Bronze Plaque at Anfield Stadium

The Boot Room Boys plaque was unveiled at Anfield Stadium in March 2024, a project undertaken by the Liverpool FC Creative team in partnership with Kodansha, the Club's Official Publication Partner.

It is the first plaque to be installed in what will be a series that transforms 97 Avenue – along the stadium's Main Stand – into a "Walk of Champions" that honours figures who have written LFC's illustrious history.

Those who know will recognise that this group are taking up a well-deserved permanent place within the Anfield brickwork, and those that don't can find out more here: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/walk-of-champions/bootroom-boys
Illustrated in Adobe Fresco the portraits have a vintage feel, simple enough for the engraving process.
Once completed the portraits were taken into Adobe Illustrator and arranged into the final composition. The areas of shade were then converted into lines – adding to the vintage feel with a linocut effect – since the final artwork would consist of only two colours.
The Anfield event was hosted by Steve Hothersall and attended by the families of the Boot Room Boys as well as LFC Legends including the last-surviving of the group, Roy Evans.

After sharing some stories from the Boot Room, Roy – together with Yoshinobu Noma (President, Kodansha) and Ben Latty (Commercial Director, LFC) – unveiled the plaque and officially launched the Walk of Champions scheme.
