Weekly Editorial Cartoons - 2023
A set of my weekly editorial cartoons for Folha de São Paulo, one of Brazil's primary daily newspapers.
Blue - The Town (music festival held in São Paulo)
Salmon - The City
Girl: "Wow, I've never seen Louis so focused on work as he has been in the last few days."
On the computer: "Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour. You're number 370.542 on the line"
"Welcome to the European anti-colonialist museum!"
"The government of São Paulo sends families back to condemned houses in São Sebastião."
Context: Many families lost theirs houses due to a recent landslide. The government hasn't reformed or provided new houses, just sent the people back to their old half destroyed homes.
"It should be just a hanger."
Context: The sinking of Maceió ground is a geological process of soil subsidence in several neighborhoods of the Brazilian city of Maceió, capital of the state of Alagoas, of an anthropogenic nature, caused by the inadequate exploitation and consequent collapse of the rock salt mines of the Brazilian mining company Braskem. Now, the company is making abusive contracts and deals to buy the sinking houses from their previous owners.
Responsibles for fighting the Rio de Janeiro's militias. Expectation | Reality
Context: The passing of Glória Maria, a Brazilian famous reporter.
Inceline. Side effects: chronic misogyny, fear of women, baldness.
In the city of Belo Horizonte, a drunk girl was left alone by her male friend, who put her in an Uber and sent her home. Her brother, who arranged with her friend to wait for her at home, slept and didn't hear the doorbell. The Uber driver left the girl on the street and a random man then kidnapped and raped her.
