I had the privilege to design the book cover for Skalpel by prof. dr. Uros Ahcan, Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Teaming up with illustrator Mitja Bokun, we aimed to capture the essence of Ahcan's candid narrative. Skalpel was published by Mladinska knjiga in November 2023.

In Skalpel, prof. Dr. Uros Ahcan sincerely describes what it means to be a dedicated physician while simultaneously being a human, husband, and father. He informatively, poignantly, and touchingly writes about patients, professional dilemmas, and procedures that have most deeply affected him throughout his long career. He critically reflects on happiness, beauty, the society we live in, and the pitfalls of the healthcare system. It's a medical lexicon, emergency room drama, "House M.D.", and "Our Little Clinic" all in one book, where - unlike series - everything is indeed real.
