Knock Knock
A artwork created for an exhibition titled: "In the Eyes of Others - Ghosts of Observation"

In my piece titled "Knock Knock (2024)," I aim to capture the complexity of perception. This exploration speaks of the multifaceted aspects of knowledge and understanding gained from personal experience, emphasising how these facets vary significantly depending on the observer. Navigating through the woven nature of perception, I present it through the lenses of both the viewer and the artist, with a specific focus on elements like the ego and the core self/soul.

The intent behind this artwork and poem is to recognise that the observer's perception is an art form in itself. The goal is to convey that this perspective does not pose a threat to the existence of those being observed. Instead, it serves as an appreciation of the diverse richness that various perspectives bring to our shared understanding of the world.

Knock Knock
In the hush of perception, an observer’s glance,
A bird takes flight, caught in a cosmic dance.
Fish navigate currents, silent and free,
While a snake slithers through shadows, a mystery.

Knock knock, an echo in the stillness,
Curious eyes pierce through chaos and bliss.
The concept of home, an abstract notion,
Grace whispers softly in life’s vast ocean.

The sun rises upon another hidden door,
The same but different, a silent metaphor.
Peace moves subtly in the ebb and flow,
A galaxy of dreams beyond, a tranquil underglow.

A traveler with wings against the canvas of the sky,
Unique to any witness passing by.
Tears, the unspoken language of the heart,
Knock knock, on the door of perception, a universal art.
