While studying abroad and attending Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan, Italy, I was enrolled in an Editorial Graphic Design course. My Professor, Paolo Borelli, specifically focused on the fundamentals of design as applied to book covers, typography, and general layout. For this project, we were asked to incorporate abstract design as part of this book cover series. I chose a sampling of Eric Carle's wildly colorful and illustrative books to convey this message. There is a childlike nature to the scribbles and haphazard lines that appear on these covers which successfully translate the aesthetic of his books and caters to the target audience.
