Our proposal for a new public art installation is a wall that reacts to the windy site, plays with light and changes with the seasons. Consisting of free moving, top hinged, tiles of varying translucency and color. The wind can pass through the wall creating waves across the wall from the tiles swaying back and forth manipulating light and reflection. During the night, colored artificial light will help animate the movements of the surface. We hope the wall will act as a screen towards the busy road on the northern edge of the square, creating a more intimate and playful feel.
Video 01:16. Mock-up, filmed by xxxx and speak (Swedish) by Petter Thörne.
Technical
The wall should have a scale that relates with the existing brick heritage buildings
For ease of maintenance each line of tile can be taken out to allow replacement of the individual tiles
