Much like the human body, where every limb and feature serves a purpose and bears a unique name, typography boasts its own anatomy, rich with terminology and significance. Delving into the world of type anatomy is akin to unraveling the mysteries of a living organism, each curve and stroke revealing its own detail. This analysis lesson has been a gateway to a deeper understanding of typography, offering insights that illuminate the artistry behind the letters we see and use every day.
Each design serves as a testament to the creative exploration and experimentation conducted throughout this assignment. From vibrant color palettes to minimalist typography choices, these designs embody contrasting styles that demonstrate the versatility and adaptability of typography. Through attention to detail and composition, I've created two distinct visual narratives.
People usually know me as Tiffany, but "Tho" is my real name, and I've incorporated it here along with my favorite colors and fonts. I particularly enjoy the geometric shapes of Futura and Avant Garde Gothic fonts. This design serves to express my uniqueness and identity.
"Art" as a newer, more challenging version of myself. This one represents my exploration of new styles and stepping out of my comfort zone. You'll notice a combination of sans-serif and serif fonts, with each letter featuring a different typeface. The color palette is also more diverse in tone compared to the other.
Transitioning to the digital from my hand-drawing sketch, I continued my exploration of type anatomy with a refined focus on precision and detail. By layering and manipulating the opacity of letters, I wanted to create visually captivating designs. This digital iteration provided me with greater flexibility and control, enabling me to refine and enhance my designs with meticulous attention to detail.
I began the process of exploring type anatomy through hand-drawn sketches. By experimenting with the placement and interaction of letters, I explored the intricate relationship between the visual aesthetics and structural elements of typography.
