Twin Sails Bridge

Despite its maritime heritage Poole Harbour and its environs are a much contemporised part of our southern coastline, no old fishing nets and barnacled boat hulls here. But the coastal light still dances on the water and at night the Twin Sails Bridge is at its most elegant; a double leaved bascule bridge designed by Architects Wilkinson Eyre and built by consulting engineers Gifford and mechanical engineers Bennetts Associates. Seen here viewed from the RNLI Training College along West Quay Road.
