Stephen King's "It" Book Cover Redesign

Stephen King's "IT" Book Redesign
Image Based Book Cover:

When looking at how I wanted the image based book cover to look I knew I had to pick one of the most important symbols in the book, a red balloon choosing black as the background was to make the red balloon(s) pop and be the center of attention. The back cover I made the balloons much smaller and created them to be very sparse from each other to give an eerie feeling since "IT" is a horror movie. I wanted the name of the book to be a little more hidden since the overall cover is very simple so I placed it as a highlight on the balloon.

Text Based Book Cover:

When I was creating the type-based cover I realized it would be much more challenging since there were not very many letters in the title which is what I wanted the viewer to focus on. But after some thought I thought about giving the title a scratchy and blood-like text because the book itself is very gory its bloody and its insane how much detail is put. I wanted the type to be focused on the title so When I picked the font for the rest of the text I picked a simple font that was easily readable. As for the word “IT” I had thought about it being blood and it streams into a pool of blood.
