Anti-portraits - Charcoal

Anti-portraits

Through these charcoal anti-portraits, I set out to deconstruct conventional notions of beauty and identity and open up a dialogue about the nature of identity, self-perception and beauty in modern society.

By deliberately distorting my own face, I challenge conventional expectations and invite viewers to question their own perceptions of themselves and others.
These anti-portraits reveal a raw truth, with all its rough edges and nuances, and are an invitation to embrace our scars, flaws and vulnerabilities as essential elements of our humanity.

I explored different dynamics in the direction of the strokes to create a path for the eye.

The anti-portrait in contemporary art is a silent revolt, a mute cry against convention. It tears away the veil of normality to reveal the inner depths of the human soul.

It rejects frozen perfection. He prefers twisted faces and exaggerated expressions. Each line tells a personal story, defying social expectations.

It is an ode to diversity, a gentle provocation, an affirmation of our imperfect humanity.
