Backstory: Part of a short story sequel
Anu drives through the pouring rain, losing control in the forest. The storm worsens, enveloping everything in thick mist and fog. Visibility is lost. A hand appears on her window, and she screams, attempting to flee, but her car gets stuck in the mud. The engine roars, the window-banging intensifies, and the storm continues.
Concept:
The story is essentially about being stranded and being in a completely helpless situation, or state, mentally, physically, or emotionally. It creates a sense of exhaustion, helplessness, and desperation to get out, but with no apparent way out.
Interpretations:
This story is open to a plethora of interpretations , some of which may be the following -
1. Feeling for someone who is trapped, forced, and controlled in an abusive relationship
2. Feelings of a visually impaired person who feels limited with no freedom to open and explore
3. Situation of heinous true crimes in society (trafficking, rape, etc.)
4. A person's psychological state
5. The hand could either be a source of a lifeline or some hope, or it could be the source of the problem.
6. The... adds mystery and may be detrimental.
7. For a child, it could simply be a game of hide and seek.

Employing a loose, abstract style of text illustration, the book aims to evoke feelings through patterns and experimental formatting techniques such as spacing, tracking, and strokes. Throughout its pages, a wave-like motif pervades, instilling a sense of horror, mystery, and suspense. Key phrases like "Can't see" are visually represented with clusters of black text interspersed with small white gaps, creating a hazy effect. Conversely, "Can't flee" appears in a white space surrounded by sharp patterns, conveying a sense of entrapment. The hand motif, depicted as an outline without mass, invites interpretation.
