User Interface & Experience Design
The processing of a BAföG initial application takes, according to a Statista study from 2023, on average more than 5.5 hours, without considering the subsequent processing time. About 90% of all BAföG applications cannot be processed directly by the office, leading to follow-up inquiries, extended processing times, and sometimes even rejection notices from the BAföG office. Common reasons for this are errors in filling out the forms, often caused by ignorance or ambiguously worded questions.

The "Dein BAföG" app significantly streamlines this process. The clearly formulated questions are easy for users without prior knowledge to answer, and there is always the option to consult support. Through the BAföG test, the user receives an initial assessment of their monthly BAföG rate and only needs to upload the missing documents to complete the BAföG application. Throughout the entire process, chat support is always available. Additionally, even after submitting the application, the user can track the progress of external processing. Furthermore, the user is informed via a newsfeed about topics of interest, such as changes in BAföG law or one-time payments for students.
