2025 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco - Identity Concept

Motivation
Each season, the Africa Cup of Nations is held in a different African country (much like the World Cup). However, unlike other tournaments such as the Euro, Asian Cup, or Copa America, the AFCON traditionally utilizes the same logo, only modifying it by incorporating the host country's name. However, this tradition shifted during the AFCON 23 hosted in Ivory Coast, where a fresh logo and identity were specifically crafted for that season. Inspired by this change and as a brand designer from Morocco, I've taken on the exciting challenge of conceptualizing a logo and identity for the upcoming AFCON 25, set to be held in my homeland, as a passion project.

Brief
The Africa Cup of Nations commonly also known as AFCON or CAN, is the main international men's association football competition in Africa. It is sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and was first held in 1957. Since 1968, it has been held every two years, switching to odd-numbered years in 2013. Each new season a new country host the competition. 24 teams participate in the finals divided into 6 groups, each group with 4 teams.
