Abstract Independence
Independence Day
Chardon, OH
July 3, 2011
I expected this year to be just as lame as last year's fireworks display, with local city and state budgets
suffering from massive cuts and falling revenues, I was not expecting my small hometown to break the bank on an expensive lightshow that when its all over with goes up in smoke. But  I was wildly entertained by the variety of colours and shapes. Certianly the huge thunderstorm rolling in hastened the ignition of hundreds of fireworks that normally took twice as long, and with the crowd running as the wind started blowing, myself and my few friends found ourselves to be the only few left out of a thousand spectators who had suddenly vanished.  The harder the wind blew, the more rockets they launched, one after another, with the best Grand Finale I have ever witnessed in Chardon's History.
Below is just a small sample.
