My company was approached by Robert Blackman (series costume designer) to create the full body creature suits featured in "Time's Arrow" Part 1&2. The suits had to be 1-size-fits-all, so we asked for the measurements of the largest of the actors cast for the roles.
We sculpted the torso, arms, legs, hands, and feet, separately, using WED Clay, over a per-existing body cast,, taking in consideration the actor's measurements. Michael Westmore provided the head sculpture, and provided us a copy so that we could emulate the style, carrying it over to the body suit sculpture.
From the sculptures, we elected to make fiberglass molds. We generated 3 copies from the molds, using hand-applied, chroma-key blue pigmented latex, followed with flexible polyurethane foam that was poured with spandex body suits inside of the molds, ensuring complete attachment.
