I first began this project by looking closely at the different grips used by the consumer when using a screwdriver. The first grip I witnessed was primarily used to start the screw into the material and it consisted of the palm directly on top of the base of the handle. The fingers were mainly used to provided torque. Once the screw was started, the users moved the handle deeper into the palm towards the wrist so that the arm was more in line with the shaft of the screwdriver. This provided maximum torque for the user. This particular screwdriver is designed to accommodate all the different types of grips that the consumer might use.
