Japanese drama theater Noh originated in the fourteenth to fifteenth centuries. The characters in Noh theater are divided into categories: women, men, warriors, and otherworldly forces. This division does not mean that there are usually only four actors on stage. Each category of characters is divided into other types. For example, women can be young, old, evil or beautiful.
