Illustrations for Children
I got my start in illustration in educational publishing and I continue working in various aspects of this field. The work pictured here was done for Current Health magazine, a publication which keeps giving me hilarious art specs. So here you see my take on proper sneezing etiquette and the dire effects of swallowing gum (turns out it does NOT take 10 years to digest).

The series of small illustrations are part of a series for an school planner published by Premier Agendas for the purpose of teaching elementary age kids time management and strategic long-term thinking. Can't we all use a little help with that?

I have been a fan of Greasy Kid Stuff since way before I hadkids myself. If you’ve never heard of it, Greasy Kid Stuff is a radio show that played onWFMU for years, hosted by DJs Belinda and Hova. Then they moved to Portland,Oregon where they continued the show on a local station. They have been hugelyinfluential, playing head-banging, toe-tapping music that parents ANDkids love. So I was really excited when I recognized Hova on the street inPortland right after I had moved there too. I introduced myself (trying not togush too much) and gave him my business card. A couple of weeks later I got acall from Belinda asking me if I wanted to do some work for them. Did I ever! This poster is one of the things that came of that.
