One of Portugal’s main TV channels, SIC, through is non-profit SIC Esperança, created a 360º project (with Expresso newspaper) to tackle the harsh reality women with breast cancer had to face, beyond the clinical diagnosis – social stigmas, workplace issues, depression, family coping, and so on.
The project, Tenho Cancro, E Depois? (“I Have Cancer, Now What?”) was born to shed some light on the subject, and bring it to the public eye. To spread the word, we created a series of short films, a website, a series of articles, and even composed and recorded the theme song in-house. The project promoted some serious debate in Assembleia da República (Portugal’s Parliament), and led to the effective change in public policies. This one was a real heartbreaker, and heartwarming, all at once.
