A designers wedding
My Wedding invitation, 2009. Printed two-up on single sided A3+ stock on an Indigo Press.
I always find it a little challenging designing for myself as I tend to be my own worst critic as many of us find. and I find I want to push myself that little bit more. I spent a bit of time working with paper construction as I wanted to create a book-like feel to the design so the invitation revealed something new each flip of the page.  With a budget in mind I managed to create a double-sided finish using only one side of print by manipulating the paper in on itself, giving a booklet feel to it.
By leaving the inside tabs plain I gave the illusion that it was made up of more than one part. Quite by accident, this also created a side pocket space at each end where I decided to design inserted pullout tabs. The left side (directions) and right side (gift register) tabs were slotted inside the back outer side. All keyline shapes trims, creases, corners and folds were done manually. The artwork was hand drawn with water colour pencils and then treated in Photoshop. The RF emblem was created in Illustrator.
Watercolour and pencil drawings. They were overlayed and then treated photoshop to create the above artwork.
The manual work begins, only 90 to go. I did everything in stages to speed up production.
Halfway there.......it never ends........still got my fingers though
Artwork for background, watercolour pencil and wash on watercolour paper stock.
