Virtual Plein Airs
This is a recent exercise I've been doing to improve my illustration workflow and develop some new stylistic approaches. I load up random images on MapCrunch.com and then spend about 30-60 minutes knocking out a virtual plein air study of whatever scene I'm looking at.
In addition to being good practice, it's also a lot of fun and quite relaxing. Here's some of those images. You can probably tell from the mix of locations that I was having a lot of fun with scenes in Antarctica and Greenland.
