This is my Juxtaposition project for AMD 314. I compiled video clips of my day along side clips from my sister's day. My sister and I are 13 years a part, meaning their are a lot of differences between us. She is in the Military, with a full-time job, living on her own. This is in stark contrast to my own life where I am a full-time college student, living with my parents, and spending my weekends partying with my friends.
These clips were filmed on our IPhone's, edited on Adobe Premiere Pro, and uses the song "Living in the Moment" by Jason Mraz. The photos above were taken on a Canon Rebel EOS T6 and edited in the Adobe Lightroom Classic app. The first picture compares my sisters baby book to mine, and is juxtaposed by our baby blankets. The second picture is of our senior photos. I wanted to highlight the difference in size of the photos. This is how my mother has our photos on display, which I find quite humorous; I am the younger sibling, yet, my picture is in the larger frame.
This assignment challenged me to evaluate juxtaposition, not only in terms of photography, but in videography as well. It also encouraged me to utilize music as a means to underscore a video/photo project. Overall, this assignment pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me hone in on the skills I have acquired from previous courses.
