The Wishing Trees Shells

This photo is a close-up of a branch with four oyster shells hanging from it, two of which are painted teal and orange. The branch belongs to a set of trees located at a park called Vereen Gardens in Little River, SC. These trees are designated as “wishing trees” where visitors can hang oyster shells that wash up on the shore of the neighboring river. I don’t know when, why, or who started this, but I figured the wishing trees would be interesting to photograph for my photography class.
