Mood boards

Within this course I have found mood boards to be particularly useful for my way of working, it allows me to present a lot of visual information that I can focus on to progress with my work as well as give me initial inspiration when choosing a more specific direction or outcomes.
To start my project I have put together some simple mood boards using secondary images I found from a variety of sources, all referenced in Harvard format on my bibliography. As I was only just settling on the initial theme of environment I felt it was important to explore all the ideas I had linking to this theme, this included the Natural Environment, human Environments including architecture, the environment within fashion and decor and Environmental art. I did some smaller mood boards within my sketchbook.
I could see a re-occurring pattern of the colour green and environmentally friendly architecture within both my Human Environment mood board and my Eco-Art mood board  and began to create more specific visual aids that better emphasised my ideas and development. I had bought a couple of recycled MDF boards from one of the shops called Scrap at Sunny Bank Mill with the intention of including them in my work somehow. I found they were strong bases for mood boards but also different shapes to work on, I felt it linked within my project to use them as I was re purposing them and recycling them!
I also enjoyed creating some visualisation boards on within areas I decided to focus on later on within the project, this one was on moss. After doing some extensive research on artists that created moss imagery using fabrics I knew I wanted to have some focus on moss myself. I used a mix of different images and materials to add some variation to this mood board as well as going out and gathering some photos I had taken.
This one was on some surface patterns that included imagery of green plants, foliage and other natural elements within wallpaper samples I had found. Although I did not progress with creating any wallpaper I used this A2 foam board to refer to particularly when looking into colour palettes and different natural shades of green.
I felt once I had decided on the sub theme of 'Our Future Environment' ; I created another large scale mood board using some of the materials I had bought from Sunny Bank Mill. This one was circular shaped and I feel it captures my ideas to progress onto creating my final outcomes for this project that is circular shaped. Again it not only had a variety of primary and secondary images but I also included some 3D elements like fabric samples to add some depth to the mood board.
