For the second project in Furniture Design 2, the design brief asked for a coffee table that fit the style of a previous design movement. “Farm to Table” is a piece modeled from the Arts and Crafts movement of the 1880-1920’s. To stick with the time frame of the Arts and Crafts movement, the wood used in “Farm to Table” is old pine from a barn built in the late 1800’s, torn down in the 1990’s. The pine added its own difficulties to the project simply by its age and weathered facade.
