Eser'in bir sohbetinde bahsettiği Kuzguncuk bahçesi, Sylvie'ye yaşadığı bölgedeki Cirque du Soleil sebze bahçesini hatırlattı. Böylece “İstanbul ve Montreal'in 2 Kent Bahçesi” nin tanıtım projesini hayata geçirme fikri doğdu. Daha sonra işe koyuldular ve proje üzerinde kendi hızlarında çalışmalarına olanak tanıyan esnek ve stressiz bir çalışma dönemi geçirme planında hemfikir oldular.
Sylvie'nin kendine özgü sanatsal bakış açısıyla çektiği, her yaprağın damarlarına kadar detaylarını yüksek çözünürlükte ve yakından görebildiğimiz muhteşem bitki fotoğraflarının yanı sıra Eser'in eklediği bahçe planı, bitki türlerinin listesi, parsellerin fotoğrafları ve bahçe kullanım kuralları listesi projenin omurgasını oluşturdu.
Daha sonra zamanla iki kent bahçesinin Dünya üzerindeki konumunu gösteren hareketli uydu fotoğrafları, kuşbakışı görüntüleri ve bahçelerin Montreal ve İstanbul kent planlarındaki yerini gösteren haritalar; Fotoğrafların altına Fransızca, İngilizce ve Türkçe açıklamalar; Son olarak bu kent bahçelerine ilişkin 3 farklı dilde kısa bir bilgi notu eklendi.
Bu sebze bahçeleri benzersizdir ve belki de dünyanın başka yerlerindeki bahçelere ilham kaynağı olacaktır. Umarız İstanbul'daki Kuzguncuk Bahçesi'ni ve Montreal'deki Cirque du Soleil sebze bahçesini ziyaretinizden bizim kadar keyif alırsınız."

Le verger Kuzguncuk, dont Eser a parlé dans une de leurs conversations, avait rappelé à Sylvie le potager du Cirque du Soleil dans la région où elle habite. Ainsi, l'idée de mettre en œuvre le projet promotionnel de ces « 2 jardins urbains d'Istanbul et de Montréal » est née. Elles se sont ensuite mises au travail et ont grandement apprécié ce délai flexible et sans stress qui leur a permis de travailler sur le projet à leur rythme.
En plus des magnifiques photographies de plantes prises par Sylvie avec son regard artistique unique, dans lesquelles on peut voir les détails de chaque feuille jusqu'aux nervures en haute résolution et de près, des visuels ajoutés par Eser, tels que le plan du jardin, le la liste des espèces végétales, les photographies des parcelles et la liste des règles d'utilisation du jardin ont constitué l'épine dorsale du projet.
Puis, au fil du temps, des photographies satellite animées montrant l'emplacement des deux jardins urbains sur Terre, des vues à vol d'oiseau et des cartes montrant la place des jardins dans les plans d'urbanisme de Montréal et d'Istanbul ont été ajoutées. Des descriptions en français, anglais et turc ont été ajoutées sous les photographies. Enfin, une brève note d'information sur ces jardins urbains a été ajoutée en 3 langues différentes. Ces potagers sont uniques et inspireront peut-être des jardins ailleurs dans le monde. Nous espérons que vous apprécierez autant que nous votre visite au jardin Kuzguncuk à Istanbul et au potager du Cirque du Soleil à Montréal."
This project was carried out by two friends and artists:

The Kuzguncuk orchard, which Eser mentioned in one of their conversations, reminded Sylvie of the Cirque du Soleil vegetable garden in the region where she lives. Thus, the idea of implementing the promotional project of these “2 urban gardens of Istanbul and Montreal” was born. They then got to work and greatly appreciated this flexible, stress-free deadline which allowed them to work on the project at their own pace.
In addition to the magnificent photographs of plants taken by Sylvie with her unique artistic eye, in which we can see the details of each leaf down to the veins in high resolution and up close, visuals added by Eser, such as the garden plan, The list of plant species, photographs of the plots and the list of rules for using the garden formed the backbone of the project.
Then, over time, animated satellite photographs showing the location of the two urban gardens on Earth, bird's eye views and maps showing the place of the gardens in the urban plans of Montreal and Istanbul were been added. Descriptions in French, English and Turkish have been added below the photographs. Finally, a brief information note on these urban gardens has been added in 3 different languages. These vegetable gardens are unique and will perhaps inspire gardens elsewhere in the world. KUZGUNCUK BAHÇESİ, ÜSKÜDAR, İSTANBUL
Eski adıyla "İlya'nın Bahçesi" olarak bilinen Kuzguncuk Bahçesi, İstanbul'un Üsküdar ilçesinin Kuzguncuk semtinde yer alan çok amaçlı bir sosyal bahçe/park alanıdır. Bitkilendirme alanları, oyun alanı, koşu ve yürüyüş parkuru ve çim amfitiyatro bulunmaktadır. Aynı zamanda afet durumunda toplanma alanıdır. Üsküdar Belediyesi tarafından 2014 yılında Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü'nden kiralanmıştır.
Kuzguncuk Bahçesi, insanlarla anlamlı mekanlar arasında gelişen bağın güzel bir örneğidir. Ve şehrin ortasında bu kadar büyük ve devasa bir tarım alanını gördüğünüzde ilk başta şaşırıyorsunuz. Tıpkı çölde bir vaha gibi... Kent sakinlerinin bir yere ait olma duygusunun gelişmesine katkı sağlayan kentsel mekanlardan biri. İnsanları dışarıda daha fazla vakit geçirmeye teşvik ettiği için, spontan yüz yüze görüşmeler yoluyla komşularla daha güçlü sosyal bağlar ve dostluklar kuruluyor.
17 dönümlük meyve bahçesinin girişinde ahşap kapı bulunmaktadır. Kapıda bahçe planı, kullanım kuralları ve parsellere hangi meyve ve sebzelerin dikileceğini gösteren ekim-dikim-bakım-hasat takvimi bulunmaktadır. Ekim alanı olarak kullanılan kısım yani meyve bahçesi kısmı 115 adet eşit, düzgün dikdörtgen parsele bölünmüştür. Bunlardan 50 adedi mahalle sakinlerine ayrılmış olup, parselleri kimin kullanacağı her yıl kura ile belirlenmektedir. Geriye kalan parseller ise okullara ve bilgi merkezlerine veriliyor. Herkes kendi toprağını işleyerek organik tarım yapıyor ve kendi gıdasını üreten, toprağıyla çalışan mutlu insanlar oluyorlar. Mahalle bahçeciliğinin mükemmel bir örneği.
KUZGUNCUK GARDEN, ÜSKÜDAR, İSTANBUL
Kuzguncuk Orchard, formerly known as "İlya's Orchard", is a multi-purpose social garden/park area located in the Kuzguncuk district of Üsküdar district of Istanbul. There are planting fields, playground, jogging and walking track and grass amphitheater. It is also a gathering area in case of disaster. It was rented by Üsküdar Municipality from the General Directorate of Foundations in 2014.
Kuzguncuk Orchard is a beautiful example of the bond that develops between people and meaningful places. And when you see such a large and huge agricultural area in the middle of the city, you are surprised at first. Just like an oasis in the desert... It is one of the urban spaces that contribute to the development of city residents' sense of belonging somewhere. Because it encourages people to spend more time outside, stronger social bonds and friendships are formed with neighbors through spontaneous face-to-face meetings.
There is a wooden door at the entrance of the 17-acre orchard. At the door there is a garden plan, usage rules and a sowing-planting-care-harvest calendar showing which fruits and vegetables will be planted on the plots. The part used as cultivation area, that is, the orchard part, is divided into 115 equal, regular rectangular parcels. 50 of these are reserved for neighborhood residents, and who will use the parcels is determined by lot every year. The remaining parcels are given to schools and information centers. Everyone practices organic agriculture by cultivating their own land, and they become happy people who produce their own food and work with their land. A perfect example of neighborhood gardening.
KUZGUNCUK ORCHARD, ÜSKÜDAR, ISTANBUL
Kuzguncuk Orchard, anciennement connu sous le nom de « Verger d'İlya », est un jardin/parc social polyvalent situé dans le quartier de Kuzguncuk du district d'Üsküdar à Istanbul. Il y a des champs de plantation, une aire de jeux, une piste de jogging et de marche et un amphithéâtre en herbe. C'est aussi une zone de rassemblement en cas de sinistre. Il a été loué par la municipalité d'Üsküdar à la Direction générale des fondations en 2014.
Kuzguncuk Orchard est un bel exemple du lien qui se développe entre les gens et des lieux significatifs. Et quand on voit une zone agricole aussi vaste et immense au milieu de la ville, on est d’abord surpris. Comme une oasis dans le désert… C'est l'un des espaces urbains qui contribuent au développement du sentiment d'appartenance à un endroit des citadins. Parce que cela encourage les gens à passer plus de temps dehors, des liens sociaux et des amitiés plus forts se nouent avec les voisins grâce à des rencontres spontanées en face à face.
Il y a une porte en bois à l'entrée du verger de 17 acres. A la porte se trouvent un plan du jardin, des règles d'usage et un calendrier des semis-plantation-entretien-récolte indiquant quels fruits et légumes seront plantés sur les parcelles. La partie utilisée comme superficie de culture, c'est-à-dire la partie verger, est divisée en 115 parcelles rectangulaires égales et régulières. 50 d'entre elles sont réservées aux habitants du quartier et l'usager des parcelles est déterminé chaque année par tirage au sort. Les colis restants sont remis aux écoles et aux centres d'information. Chacun pratique l’agriculture biologique en cultivant sa propre terre et devient des personnes heureuses qui produisent leur propre nourriture et travaillent leur terre. Le renouvellement urbain et le développement durable
Le Siège social international du Cirque du Soleil s’élève fièrement dans l’arrondissement de Saint-Michel, sur le site de l’ancienne carrière de sable Miron et à côté du Centre de tri et d’élimination des déchets de Montréal. Sa construction en 1997 s’inscrivait dans le cadre d’une importante initiative du quartier Saint-Michel : un programme de développement urbain où le Cirque du Soleil incarne le centre culturel du complexe environnemental de l’arrondissement.
Nous avons aussi conçu l’aménagement paysager autour de l’édifice de façon créative. Dans l’esprit de la philosophie novatrice du Cirque du Soleil, la propriété a été transformée en un riche potager qui évolue et se renouvelle au rythme des saisons. De beaux arbustes, ainsi que des pommiers et des rosiers y poussent et les jardiniers du Siège social international entretiennent l’espace qu’ils ont créé. Les légumes et les fines herbes récoltées ici sont utilisés dans la préparation des plats pour les employés et les surplus leur sont aussi donnés. (Info Cirque du Soleil)
Depuis 2020, Mon Resto Saint-Michel travaille en collaboration avec l'institution du Cirque du Soleil afin de cultiver des terres disponibles au sein de leur siège social. Ainsi, nous semons et récoltons dans ce jardin durant la période estivale ! L'année précédente, c'est près de 1500 kg de fruits et légumes qui ont été cultivé et récoltés par les citoyens bénévoles et nos équipes. Ces fruits et légumes permettent de lutter contre l'insécu-rité alimentaire dans le quartier, de diversifier l'offre alimentaire locale et d'avoir un espace extérieur pour faire lien et finalement, de créer un lien d'appartenance pour les citoyens michelois. Urban Renewal and Sustainability
Cirque du Soleil’s International Headquarters stands proudly in the Montreal borough of Saint-Michel, on the site of the former Miron sandpit and the Montreal Waste Treatment and Disposal Centre. Its 1997 construction was part of a larger Saint-Michel initiative: an urban development program where Cirque du Soleil embodies the cultural center of the borough’s Environmental Complex. The landscape surrounding the building is also put to use in creative ways. In keeping with Cirque du Soleil’s creative philosophy, the property has been turned into a vibrant food garden the shifts and adapts with the seasons. Beautiful shrubs, apple trees, and rose bushes grow from the soil, as our International Headquarters gardeners tend to the space they have created. Since 2020, Mon Resto Saint-Michel has worked in collaboration with the Cirque du Soleil institution to cultivate available land within their head office. So, we sow and harvest in this garden during the summer period! The previous year, nearly 1,500 kg of fruits and vegetables were grown and harvested by citizen volunteers and our teams. These fruits and vegetables make it possible to fight against food insecurity in the neighborhood, to diversify the local food offering and to have an outdoor space to connect and ultimately, to create a bond of belonging for the citizens of Michelois. Kentsel Yenileme ve Sürdürülebilirlik
Cirque du Soleil'in Uluslararası Genel Merkezi, Montreal'in Saint-Michel ilçesinde, eski Miron kum havuzunun ve Montreal Atık Arıtma ve Bertaraf Merkezi'nin bulunduğu yerde gururla duruyor. 1997'deki inşaatı daha büyük bir Saint-Michel girişiminin parçasıydı: Cirque du Soleil'in ilçenin Çevre Kompleksi'nin kültür merkezini bünyesinde barındırdığı bir kentsel gelişim programı. Binayı çevreleyen manzara da yaratıcı şekillerde kullanılıyor. Cirque du Soleil'in yaratıcı felsefesine uygun olarak tesis, mevsimlere uyum sağlayan canlı bir yemek bahçesine dönüştürüldü. Uluslararası Merkezdeki bahçıvanlarımız yarattıkları alanla ilgilenirken toprakta güzel çalılar, elma ağaçları ve gül çalıları büyüyor. Burada yetiştirilen sebzeler ve şifalı bitkiler çalışanların yemeklerini hazırlamak için kullanılıyor ve fazla bahçe yiyecekleri aralarında paylaşılıyor.
Mon Resto Saint-Michel, 2020'den bu yana merkez ofisindeki mevcut araziyi yetiştirmek için Cirque du Soleil kurumuyla işbirliği içinde çalışıyor. Bu yüzden yaz döneminde bu bahçede ekim ve hasat yapıyoruz! Geçtiğimiz yıl gönüllü vatandaşlar ve ekiplerimiz tarafından yaklaşık 1.500 kg'a yakın meyve ve sebze yetiştirilip hasadı yapıldı. Bu meyve ve sebzeler mahalledeki gıda güvensizliğiyle mücadele etmeyi, yerel yemek sunumunu çeşitlendirmeyi ve bağlantı kuracak bir açık alana sahip olmayı ve sonuçta Michelois vatandaşları için bir aidiyet bağı oluşturmayı mümkün kılıyor.(Mon resto Saint-Michel)
