At the beginning of 2024 I dived deep into Le Sacre Du Printemp, by Igor Stravinsky. There was no particular reason for me to do it, except for enjoying the incredible music.
Wikipedia: "Stravinsky's score contains many novel features for its time, including experiments intonality, metre, rhythm, stressand dissonance. Analysts have noted in the score a significant grounding inRussian folk music, a relationship Stravinsky tended to deny. Regarded as among the first modernistworks, the music influenced many of the 20th-century's leading composers and is one of the most recorded works in the classical repertoire."
And I thought, what if the story depicted by the score was set on another planet, where primitive tribes sacrifice a young male for the ancient gods, assuring the cycle of life and death to continue for another year?
