Dokuzparinsky District, Dagestan

The only Shia Muslim rural locality in Dagestan.

It is located at the foot of Shalbuzdag mount. The elevation of the peak is 4,142 metres (13,589 ft) above sea level.

Shalbuzdag mount is a sacred place for Muslims. Seven ascents to it are equated with the Hajj.
