Big Pig/Plate Skate
Approach
When this project was presented to our class, my aim was to select uncomplicated terminology and construct a lively collage. Big Pig comprises images sourced from the internet. Employing non-destructive editing techniques, I utilized layer masks on the skyscraper photographs to eliminate structures that might detract from the prominence of the pig balloon. I opted for the pig balloon because its portrayal embodies the concept of scale juxtaposed with towering buildings. The balloon is positioned at an angle to convey the impression of leaning against the building, akin to a person resting their chin on a shoulder. It evokes the image of a leisurely pig reclining on the shoulder of a skyscraper.

PlateSkate was conceived as a personal challenge aimed at designing a skate that incorporates plate spinning. Being a novice in Illustrator, I saw this as an opportunity to push my boundaries in technical image creation using the software. Initially, my sketches depicted skates positioned atop a plate and two skates engaged in plate spinning. Following submission, I discussed the possibility of revisiting and refining the project. The outcome reflects the culmination of diligent effort invested throughout the semester, and I'm delighted with the significant progress made over the past few months.
