Heroes Easter was a themed fortnight of programming on the UK boys' channel Kix Power which was all about epic action cartoons and I wanted to do some traditional hand drawn Anime style idents for them. We couldn't use the heroes from the shows (which included chaps like Wolverine and Batman) so I created the characters from scratch. Initially they were going to transform into an awesome warrior bear and a deadly Gundam-style robot but unfortunately due to time constraints these guys had to be dropped. I did a design for the bear which I've included below and also the animatic where you can see him in action (sort of). I enlisted the help of two excellent illustrators to help me with this, Ricardo Bessa, who did all of the backgrounds and colour design, and Sarah Jones, who helped to painstakingly colour and shade all of the individual frames.
