Sega Sends Mario and Sonic to London
 
Sega's popular Mario-and-Sonic-(IN THE SAME WORLD!)-games appeal to two target groups who are otherwise quite different: young children and nostalgic, die-hard fans of the characters (who tend to be in their mid-to-late twenties.) For their TV spots promoting their latest game, Mario and Sonic go to the London Olympics, we needed to appeal to both groups. So we put Mario and Sonic in big, goofy costumes and let them be silly as they tried to interact with the real world (for the kids.) And, we made sure that as they did interact with the real world, true-to-character repercussions occured (for those who remember them from the good ol' days.)
