SHOVEL KNIGHT PROJECT
We interviewed the lead artist on Shovel Knight, Nick Wozniak, to understand what the development process was like and how we could replicate that in our own project.

In Shovel Knight, the gameplay revolves around defeating bosses in order to progress to the next levels. Our aim for this project was to design and create a boss, revolving around themes of the environment and climate change.
Firstly, I designed myself as a knight for one of the tasks (I called myself the "night-knight")

I wanted to do a space theme, as gamma rays from dying stars have been linked to climate change. Then I went to designing the boss itself.
Lastly, the final pieces in all their pixel glory. I even included an attack animation and a genderbent variant.
