Through an analysis of historical slave narratives and the isolated and periodic nature of their journey, I try to engender within my museum’s occupants an experience that relates to the fragmented and uncertain memory of travelling along the Underground Railroad. The building consists of tight and unnatural spaces that give way to a maze-like circulation pattern and offer opportunities for museum displays in unexpected and unique places.
