We have always been interested in cases for restaurants due to the artistic and historical basis and the graphic freedom that design can provide. The brief was to maintain the identity of the city of Lisbon and the traditional Portuguese icons, but how to transform something so traditional into something functional and new?
With this challenge in hand, we combined aspects of local cuisine with the original colors of the Portuguese flag, and subtly, we created a graphic system with the aesthetics necessary for a modern, minimalist, and artistic identity.
To complement it, with the help of collaborative naming, we had a path to follow: the entire visual concept should follow something young and bold. The name Malta is a Portuguese word that describes "guys" and has everything traditional in a good way and in a 2023 way.
