Ophelia - the young hobbit
A character design project for college
Ophelia is a very young hobbit who has just moved from her chaotic family's home to a brand new hole. She is determined to make it the hole of her dreams: clean, organized, peaceful and full of beautiful flowers. This job, however, is harder than she thought. Her perfeccionism makes her too nervous to actually get the things she wants done.
This character design was made for the idea of an animated TV series for kids and teens about the mundane - but not at all little - problems of a hobbit's life in the Shire.
The pilot would consist of Ophelia's attempt to make a tea party for her beloved friends, to celebrate moving to her own home. She really wants to impress them, specially since her last party was ruined by her loud, gross and embarrassing family. She's certain she's going to get it perfect this time, until she realizes: her famous chocolate cake is burning! And it would be a crime to make her party without a chocolate cake. What would anyone think?
She proceeds to start a new cake, when she finds out there's no more eggs. She tries to get new ones from her chickens, but they haven't hatched any new ones. She continues her quest to find eggs in the Shire, thinking everyone will judge her for absolutely ruining her party. Little does she know her friends would never think that about her and would love to help her, if only she had confidence in herself to ask for it...
