BRISTOL MEZZANINE SHOWROOM
A NEW EXPERIENTAL FURNITURE SHOWROOM

The primary design ideas were highly considered with the principles of transition and layering into space typology that governs the form, space and order within the compound given space. Different spatial composition is considered to create a continuation and repetition of spaces.

The design eschews the typical format of a showroom or the over decorated showroom, instead it explores the relationship between the company and products. This connectivity experiential mode are articulated via 2D application, such as interactive handrail, LCD touch screen, division screen panels, QR codes, projectors and 3D exploration of the physical products.

As part of interactive device to welcome visitors, the handrail will be encased with wide range of electronic images of Bristol’s furniture products. Hence, as and when a visitor walks through, the sensor in the casing will automatically lights up and “welcomes” the visitor.

The continuity of this interactive experience further is made available at the introductory space, where the interactive counter is designed with LCD touch screen for product e-cataloguing and area for data information.
The exhibits are designed to showcase the Bristol’s brand and business development, historical milestone design achievements, then and now. The visitor could explore and experience the diversity range of Bristol’s furniture products as such.

The Bristol’s furniture product ranges are divided by series of suspended lightweight translucent panels, which use for displaying information about the furniture and create a division of space from the viewer to the furniture. The panels are sustainable and reusable by just replacing the printed information.
Suspended display info panels are incorporated in the interior elements as a space divider to indicate the wide range of Bristol’s furniture. With the effects of silhouette on the display screen to indicate a specific product of furniture, as an eye catching signage.

The exhibit areas are kept with minimal disruption to create a flexible exhibition area for future orientation.
Material samples and product catalogues are ready displayed beside the discussion area. The information is also reachable by using technology devices and QR codes, which promote the use of technology.
