Inspired by the rich Italian coffee culture, Caffè Rosso is our modern interpretation of a classic Italian cafe branding experiment.
Bologna, known as 'The Red City' for its distinctive red-bricked Medieval architecture and terracotta-tiled rooftops, boasts a vibrant Italian cafe and culinary scene largely untouched by the influx of tourists and expats. Its narrow streets and cobbled walkways pulse with a unique community spirit, exuding energy, elegance, and infectious excitement.
This project was born from the desire to explore how the very essence of a city - its people, architecture, and undeniable elegance - can be captured and expressed within the brand identity of a beloved local Italian cafe. Cafe Rosso embodies the spirit of Bologna, offering a modern take on the classic Italian cafe experience.
At the core of Caffè Rosso's identity and design system lies a logo that symbolises a 'flow'.
The flow is the aroma of freshly baked pastries and rich espresso that fills the air and cobblestone streets of Bologna.
It's in the murmur of conversations and laughter, weaving connections between friends and strangers alike. It's the energy that pulses beneath Bologna's terracotta rooftops, an elegance that seeps into every corner of the cafe.
'Rosso' is red in Italian, and a great colour to help express this dynamic flow with energy and elegant style.
