Wind turbines in Gaomei wetland, Taichung, Taiwan

With its unique scenery combined with diversified organisms of both plants and animals, and wind power generators, Gaomei Wetland has become a tourist attraction, which connects people, environment and energy.  Gaomei Wetland is featured for its breathtaking huge wind turbines and numerous creatures, such as crabs and mudskippers in the 300 hectare land. It was actually a beach which was closed due to sand accretion twenty years ago. After few years, it became a wetland which is rich for abundant ecological resources which attracts various migratory birds. Taiwan Power Company built 18 wind power turbines in Gaomei Wetland, as to the special geographical location, where there is northeast wind in winter, called the Wind of September. When the sun sets, the sky turns from blue to orange, and dark blue, people gather to admire the changes of the natural scenery.
