Photographer Tobi Wilkinson has been photographing the Gyoto Monks for quite some years now, and this year’s exhibition focuses on the monk’s robes. Being their only posession, the monks have been wearing their traditional red robes for centuries. Although apparearing the same, each robe is unique – the way the monks wear them and slight colour changes in the red colour.
The exhibition (featuring a dozen monks who traveled down to Sydney) was part of a 13-day program named ‘Echoes of Enlightenment’.
