Itzil - The Fire Druid
I had the clear idea of what I wanted this character to feel like. Feral, curious, yet dangerous. The feathers fluffing up as a way to seem bigger, much like a predator would. I inspired myself with these pictures, for the essence the poses gave me and the shapes that they conveyed to me.
My first round of sketching was particularly chaotic. The contortion of the body had to feel balanced with a good center of gravity but at the same time as if its in movement.
My goal with the colors was mostly to make it seem as if they could be camouflage with the background. The red being very important in the inicial color experimentation. The bright blond distracted too much so i changed it to tie the whole thing together.
