IDIA | Re-brand
Indigenous Design Innovation Aotearoa is a small Māori design agency based in Wellington, New Zealand. As a proof of concept I explored a company re-brand to freshen their existing brand visual identity. It was also a design process demonstration for project based work.

Discovery & Research
Assessed the existing visual identity across all digital platforms, alongside fellow (competitor) Māori design agencies of NZ. Key take aways were consistency, quality and lean into point of difference.
Re-brand, and a rename?
Indigenous Design Innovation Aotearoa is a mouthful. I explored a few options of shortening, alas IDIA as 'Idea' has the most mauri. Alternatively 'Arotahi' was a close second.
Exploration & Development
A simplified version of the logo development process. I experimented with form of the letters, specifically the interplay between as well as ability to 'patternise'. I gave priority to concepts which were easy to read yet flexible in other arragements.

Bold, Clear, Pure - Custom sans serif type with considered angles aligned to whakairo.
