As the real estate landscape changes, so too does New Zealand's appetite for home renovation shows. An answer to this call, Three produced the Aotearoa's first homegrown adaptation of renowned format House Rules. 

A programme speaking to those at various stages of the renovation process, major prize sponsor BNZ saw their involvement with the show as an opportunity to educate viewers on the wealth of services they offer that can help. To bring this to life, the KNACK. creative team pitched a set of 5 x 30" TVCs that featured each team in their home, talking to a real life BNZ Home Loan manager about a specific pain point that could ail them in future.

From this brief, I wrote five bespoke scripts that stitched together both BNZ's desired communication objectives and each teams own personalities and storylines - determined to capture the tone and dynamic each team brought to the show.

Once approved, my immediate production team and I worked over three months to produce each spot, navigating continuously changing production timelines, talent availability and emotional dynamics as due to shoot timing, two teams had to be filmed after being eliminated from the show; a deep trial for two groups of real people.

As a final testament to the flexibility of my production crew, an additional facet to this project was the need to create accompanying 30" - 60" social videos at each house shoot, all on the same day we shot each TVC. These can be found below as well as a compilation cut.
