Zine- Umbrellas on the floors of bloom

This zine called 'umbrellas on the floors of bloom' is a little story about a fresher who just started working, she moved into a cohousing society and her slow journey of growth is shown in this.
The major colours are blue and yellow which are complementary, and they depict opposite states of mind.

My goal with this project was to show a major solution[social architecture] to loneliness and isolation in a story.

Social scientists have shown a clear link between social relationships and health in the general population. Social relationships affect health through behavioral, psychosocial, and physiological pathways.
I wanted to show people that it is so important to prevent isolation that a new form of architecture has emerged- social architecture. “We have the power to give form to our future.” It is a revolution, albeit not a loud one, it’s changing people’s lives, saving them even, in Grace Kim’s words, and I wanted to convey this.

Flat layout:

Zine Prototypes- I ended up going with the third one as it has a unique structure which somewhat feels like navigating through the floors of a building.

Preliminary ideation:

Thank you.
