The goal of this competition was to highlight a particular narrative through the means of an Infographic using the data sets supplied by Opta Sportsdata.
One of the main issues and requirements was that entrants must refrain from using player photographs in the design. I solved this through illustrative means, using player silhouettes which also allowed me to incorporate goal scoring statistics into the infographic.
The expert judging panel on this competition was compiled of five professional graphic designers and sports
analysts, including: Andy McLane, Olivier Legris, Russell
Stopford, Paolo Estriga and Alex Edney.
After the judging was finished, I was invited down to the London HQ to meet the Opta team and complete a photo op which featured on the official website.
