Color Poem
Research
Throughout producing this website I incorporated information I have learned from Typographic Design, Word and Image, Interface Design, Photography, and from writing classes I have taken while being here. These design classes have taught me the importance of layout when it comes to the placement of text and images. How to align them on a page to create interest and to have negative space at times to give breathing room for the viewer. My writing classes taught me the importance of having your words flow when telling a story or giving information. This helps make it easier for the reader to understand the content I create for them to engage with. My photography class taught me the different techniques of taking an image to create interest. I didn’t take these images but I applied my knowledge from that class and thought about different ways to have the images work on each page so they don’t all behave the same or take up the same space.

When expressing these two colors I wanted to showcase a variety of different things that exist in nature that represent that color. But I also wanted to still keep the neutral colors of black and white to not make the pages so color heavy. I mainly wanted the images to express the color. Throughout working on this project I have learned how important it is to consider the colors you use when creating a platform so that it is accessible for everyone. This is a link I see between academic and the professional world. To always keep the desired audience in mind when designing.
