The project takes place on a residential development in Gualta golf club in Girona, Catalunya.
The concept was to keep an open space plan playing off the tilted shape of the roof. The kitchen dining and livingroom all share the same space. In order to better define the areas we designed 2 sculptural volumes to house all kitchen necessities such as wine, bar, breakfast and coffee nook, refrigerators, freezer, food storage and cleaning closets.
The sculptural shapes are offset with the tilted ceiling creating a tension between the two volumes and the roof. The shapes also create a loose division between kitchen and diningroom. In terms of materiality the finish of the volumes are to mimic black steel a material used in different areas of the house such as the guest bathroom sink, livingroom custom shelves, suspended fireplace. The house speaks in industrial undertones in the kitchen, guest bathroom, faucets and lighting. The interior architecture and window alignment potentiates views of pool on one side and mountains Mont Gris on the other side.
